Is your business prepared?
It’s hard to believe the year’s almost over. We are less than a week from Christmas and 11 short days from New Years 2009. With the economic news of late, most of us are hoping for a better 2009. What steps are you taking to ensure that goal? Alexander Graham Bell, credited with the invention of the telephone said,
“Before anything else, preparation is the key to success.”
As you concentrate on closing out your year, I encourage you to take a hard look at your expenses. When was the last time you actually reviewed your expenses. In a conversation with my business coach, we examined this very issue. He explained to me how his expenses were running extremely high for our industry and upon close examination; he found that the lead groups, combined with his breakfast and lunch expenses were not providing a return on his investment. He cut them loose a couple of months back; however, as he examines the expenses he spent, he is frustrated he didn’t review these costs earlier. The lesson: we must review not only our revenue weekly, or monthly; we must take a complete look at our costs and trace out where we are potentially wasting money.
