Dr. Saifur Rahman, the Vice President for New Initiatives and Outreach at IEEE Power and Energy Society. In addition to his role with IEEE, Dr. Rahman is the director of the Advanced Research Institute at Virginia Tech. Rahman’s background is quite extensive; previously holding significant positions with the US National Science Foundation, Department of Energy and other federal agencies. We discuss global warming and the renewable energy marketplace. Rahman explains how renewable applications impact the grid.
